
PURPOSE
WMI exist to create a safe space for children, girls and women living in the informal settlement to enjoy their social and economic rights, access justice, mental health and psychosocial services.

TARGET
All children in and out of school, Adolescent girls, teenage mothers and women living in Mathare, and eventually in Nairobi County.

GOAL
Work with young girls and women in the informal settlements to create violence free spaces for all to access developments and enjoy their rights.
Current Situation
Mathare is a densely populated community faced with problems such as poverty, high crime rate, unemployment, schools dropout, frequent ethnic skirmishes during election period, sexual gender based violence especially. This situation is worsened by limited opportunities and social amenities accessible to children, girls and women to exercise their rights.
